Idle Hands Make the Devil's Work is a semi-cooperative one-page tabletop rpg for three or more players.

You are a Bureaucratic Devil in service to the Lords of the Infinite Hells. You catalogue the paperwork of soul-stealing contracts, directing signees to their personal Hell. This is an incredibly efficient place and an incredibly boring one. After an eternity of this, you are fed up. Now you slack off on the job as much as you can without The Boss noticing. The Boss will NOT be happy if they catch you.

Players alternate the role of Game Manager (GM) so everyone gets a chance to plot and scheme as a playable Devil! Choose from a simple set of skills to quickly make characters and jump right into the game!

The game is played in two phases:

  • Before Lunch: Players must work together to avoid The Boss or risk the entire staff being tortured for eternity!
  • After Lunch: Players scheme and plot to be the last Devil standing, earning a promotion for their hard work (and being the last one standing)

The game is available in several formats for easy reading on paper and various devices! A PNG version is also included so the game can be shared on screen and played over VTC software like Zoom and Discord!

We played this game on this week's episode of Tabletop Clown Society and it was super fun! Love the rotating GMs, love the mix of cooperation and competition. Highly recommend!

If anyone wants to hear the game in action, you can check the episode here (or on apple or spotify or whatever else):  https://shows.acast.com/tabletop-clown-society/episodes/65d55fffce893900167ca6dd

Great to hear! I'll be sure to check it out!
